Abstract
This research critically examines the biology curriculum at the higher secondary level, focusing on its effectiveness in meeting educational objectives and preparing students for higher studies and careers in biological sciences. The study investigates whether the curriculum aligns with modern scientific advancements and pedagogical best practices. Using a quantitative approach, the research evaluates key aspects such as content relevance, depth, integration of practical skills, and student engagement. Findings indicate that while the curriculum covers fundamental biological concepts, gaps exist in the inclusion of emerging scientific fields and hands-on learning opportunities. The study highlights the need for curriculum revisions to incorporate contemporary biological research, enhance critical thinking, and foster inquiry-based learning. These results imply that an updated, well-structured curriculum can significantly improve student comprehension and interest in biology. The research has implications for policymakers and educators, suggesting that curriculum reforms should focus on interdisciplinary connections, practical applications, and the development of scientific reasoning to better equip students for future academic and professional pursuits.
